Statement of purpose

The stated purpose of The CM Pros Massachusetts Community is to provide content management professionals with networking opportunities, a forum for exchanging and examining content management topics of interest, promoting and professionalizing content management in Massachusetts, and in New England until other local chapters form.

Since Massachusetts has more CM Pros than any other state, the CM Pros Massachusetts Community will take a leading support role in forwarding the CM Pros mission statement and objectives.

Scope of work

Cultivation of new members, regular meetings - initially social get togethers, but later perhaps with speakers - provision of information about content management to the community at large. Ongoing promotion of CM Pros as a leading professional body in Greater Boston and New England.

One of our major CM Pros Summits takes place in Boston, and the CM Pros Massachusetts Community will solicit local members to provide major logistical support for this Summit and for workers in a CM Pros booth at the Gilbane Conference.

One of our members, David Pearson, is developing a Website Clinic with meetings at a venue provided by the Christian Science Church in Boston. The CM Pros Massachusetts Community will support the clinic. We will provide CM Experts for the Clinic Blue Ribbon Panel and help locate Information Architects, Usability Engineers, Accessibility Professionals, etc. to serv on the panels.

Deliverables

  • Responsibility for maintaining CM Pros Massachusetts Community web pages on the CM Pros website.
  • Responsibility for CM Pros Massachusetts mailing list serv.
  • Support for Tasks and Action timelines for Fall Summit.
  • Responsibility for links to many sister organizations in Massachusetts on our Community blog page.
