Executive Director Job Description

CM Pros seeks an energetic and enthusiastic professional to fill the position of part time Executive Director immediately

The Executive Director serves as chief operational officer and reports to the elected Board of Directors. The Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors. The position is currently part-time, on a contract basis and expected hours will average 10 – 15 hrs/week over the course of a year. The Executive Director may work from a home office.

Responsibilites

  • Advises, makes recommendations to, and assists the Board of Directors in formulating policies for the association
  • Implements association policy and directives, oversees all the organizations day to day activities, represents the organization in public and functions to serve the needs of the association
  • Works with Management Committee and other volunteers to achieve the Board's goal
  • Manages the bookkeeper to ensure an accurate accounting of income and expenditures
  • Captures, refines and in some cases develops internal processes and procedures to ensure good, repeatable practice
  • Provides feedback to the board on the success of programs and member issues
  • Contributes actively to increasing the value of the organization
  • Meets the mission, goals and objectives of CM Pros.

Requirements

  • 2 – 4 years’ experience successfully managing a volunteer or non-profit organization; a certificate in non-profit management is highly desirable, or
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience as a project team lead or line manager, supplemented with volunteer experience in a professional association
  • Demonstrated competency working with web-based collaboration and discussion tools; working understanding of web technology and web marketing
  • Demonstrably strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of budgets, accounting practices, non-profit tax regulations
  • Prior experience in the content management field or an ancillary field and in creating and maintaining third party partnerships is highly desirable
  • Understands and executes the relationship between an Executive Director and an elected Board of Directors

Remuneration will be based on experience and is negotiable for the right candidate.
